Blender 3.6 – Can’t see Rig Main Properties

If you have downloaded a character for Blender and can’t see the “Rig Main Properties” tab, then you’ve come to the right place!

Here I am using Juan Cruz’s free Deadpool Blender Rig, which you can find on his Patreon, here – https://www.patreon.com/posts/deadpool-blender-90932113

First, go through this check list and make sure you have tried them all first.

1. Check you have the Rigify add-on checked in the Preferences window, under Add-ons.

2. Within the Preferences window, under Save & Load, make sure that “Auto Run Python Scripts” is checked.

3. Make sure you are selecting the correct rig control! Some parts of the rig will not have the IK/FK functionality you might be looking for.

If you have checked these and are still at a loss, here’s one more thing you can try.

Step 1: Redownload your character rig.
Step 2: Open the Text Editor window – if you can see text here, if so, this is good!

Step 3: Select Text > Save as… – and then save the Python file next to where your Blender file is saved.

Step 4: Replace the current .py file that is highlighted in red, with the .py file you have just saved.

And voila!
You should now be able to press ‘N’ and see the Main Rig Properties and Rig Layers within the Item tab.
Comment below if you found this helped out! 😀
